the use of specific clothing items clearly represents specific social groups. for example, caps/ snapbacks are very common within the youth community especially with the males however, it is becoming increasingly popular amongst females. for this reason I decided to make the choice for my model to wear a hat so that it was more relatable to the audience, thus attracting them.

commonly, the person featuring at the front of music magazing covers are there as a style icon for the reader so it was therefore important for me to make sure the choice of clothing would be something a young R&B music fan would wear. for this reason I researched the type of clothing young, popular, R&B music artists would wear i.e. Rihanna, Keke Palmer, Rita Ora, Zendaya and many more.

Through my research I discovered that my target audience do not have a high amount of disposable income so I decided to price my magazine at a low and affordable price to attract the attention of my target audience.

Cover lines
My cover lines consist of prominent and well-known artists within the R&B music industry. This was the perfect way in attracting audiences to purchase my magazine as audiences such as the ‘fangirls’ (Fan Girls- they are one of the most popular and noticeable tribes of UK youth culture. they are united by their love for music and musicians. their ages begin from 13 year and above. it is known that they’re a powerful group of people on social media, and spend a huge about of money on merchandise and experiences). This research from UK Tribes shows that having an artist’s name within the cover lines will guarantee the attention of their fans.

The main image attracts my target audience due to the clothing and brands worn by the model. The fact that she is wearing a ‘New Era’ hat, means that the audience can relate to her. Also the clothing worn by the model is very similar to other celebrities of her age and music genre

The dialect used within the cover story is slightly colloquial and informal, this a significant way in which my magazine represents particular social groups. This is because it will allow them to easily relate.
