Understanding the type of shot

This image is a close up as eye level angle. This is usually done to suggest equality of power or authority between the reader and the artist. On the other hand (and possibly in this case) it is used to create sexual tension between the reader and the model. Close ups alone are usually used to show details, in this case facial features such as eyes and the bright vibrant hair. Close ups enable the reader to connect with the image and this allows them to feel or understand the emotions portrayed

Medium shots are images that only capture the hip and above of someone. This image is a medium shot, medium shots are commonly used to balance the focus on the background and the model, by doing this the audience will focus on the entire image as a whole as opposed looking at the images separately. Medium shots also enable space for hand gestures and movement.

Group shots consist of three or more people. Group shots in magazines are commonly used to portray the relationship between those on the cover, whether they’re band mates, lovers, or siblings. Group shots will mostly be either a long shot or a medium shot in magazines.
